HTMA Premium — common questions
HTMA is a lab test that measures the levels of minerals and toxic heavy metals deposited in a small hair sample. Because hair grows slowly, it provides a stable, ~3-month record of your mineral metabolism — a longer-term picture than a single blood draw.
Just a small amount from the back of the head — about 1–1.5 inches from the root, roughly 1 tablespoon of clippings in total, taken from 3–4 spots near the scalp. Your emailed instructions walk you through it. Recently dyed or bleached hair can affect some readings, so wait 6–8 weeks or at least 7 washes; full guidance is emailed to you.
Your hair sample is analyzed by the lab and your report is typically ready within about 2–3 weeks of the lab receiving it. Return shipping of your sample to the lab is the customer’s responsibility.
