HTMA Premium — common questions
HTMA is a lab test that measures the levels of minerals and toxic heavy metals deposited in a small hair sample. Because hair grows slowly, it provides a stable, ~3-month record of your mineral metabolism — a longer-term picture than a single blood draw.
Just a small amount from the back of the head — about 1–1.5 tablespoons. Your emailed instructions walk you through measuring it. Recently dyed or chemically treated hair can affect some readings, so we recommend using newer growth or an alternative sample; full guidance is emailed to you.
Your hair sample is analyzed by the lab and your report is typically ready within about 2–3 weeks of the lab receiving it. Return shipping of your sample to the lab is the customer’s responsibility.
